Terms of Use

Effective 7 September 2026

The short version. Clank is free, open source software offered as is. It blocks apps on your own phone at your own request. You are in charge of what you block and of keeping your tag.

What Clank is

Clank is made by DCTR s.r.o., Company ID 14206986, Pernerova 697/35, 186 00 Prague 8, Czech Republic. It is an iPhone app that uses an NFC tag as a physical switch for Apple's Screen Time. You pick the apps and websites, and a tap of your tag blocks them until you tap again. The app and this website are made available under these terms.

Open source licence

The source code is published on GitHub under the MIT licence. The licence governs the code. These terms govern your use of the app and the website.

Provided as is

Clank is provided without warranty of any kind. We do not promise that it will be available, error free, or that a block can never be bypassed. Screen Time is operated by iOS, and Apple can change how it works at any time.

You are in control, and responsible

Acceptable use

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, DCTR s.r.o. and the contributors to Clank are not liable for any loss or damage that results from using or being unable to use the app or the website, including missed messages, missed notifications, or apps you could not open while clanked.

Trademarks

Clank is an independent, open source project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Brick or its makers. Apple, iPhone, and Screen Time are trademarks of Apple Inc.
