The short version. Clank is a free app for iPhone and iPad, offered as is. It blocks apps on your own device at your own request. You are in charge of what you block and of keeping your tag.
What Clank is
Clank is made by DCTR s.r.o., Company ID 14206986, Pernerova 697/35, 186 00 Prague 8, Czech Republic. It is an iPhone and iPad app that uses an NFC tag or printed QR tag as a physical switch for Apple's Screen Time. You pick the apps and websites, and scan your paired tag inside Clank to block them or unblock them. The app and this website are made available under these terms.
Availability
Clank is free to download from the App Store. These terms govern your use of the app and the website.
Provided as is
Clank is provided without warranty of any kind. We do not promise that it will be available, error free, or that a block can never be bypassed. Screen Time is operated by iOS, and Apple can change how it works at any time.
You are in control, and responsible
- Your tag is the key. If you clank your phone and lose the tag, the app offers a limited number of emergency unclanks. When those are used up, the block stays until the tag is found or the app's data is reset through iOS. Keep the tag somewhere you can reach.
- Strict mode asks iOS to refuse deleting or installing any app while clanked. This is deliberate and applies to every app on the phone, including Clank. Turn it off before clanking if you do not want that.
- Timed and scheduled clanks end on their own at the time you set. A tag tap ends them earlier.
- Do not block what you may need. Do not use Clank to block emergency, health, or accessibility apps, or anything you rely on for safety. Phone calls and emergency services are never blocked by Clank, but check your own setup.
Acceptable use
Use Clank on devices you own or are allowed to manage. Do not use it to restrict another person's device without their knowledge and consent. Do not attempt to attack the website or the hosting behind it.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, DCTR s.r.o. and the contributors to Clank are not liable for any loss or damage that results from using or being unable to use the app or the website, including missed messages, missed notifications, or apps you could not open while clanked.

Clank is an independent project. Apple, iPhone, and Screen Time are trademarks of Apple Inc.
Changes
These terms may change. The current version is always on this page with its effective date.
